Quayarts NewportNewport is the county town on the Isle of Wight located at the head of the Medina River that is tidal and navigable at high tide; Newport is a beautiful historic town with many fine Georgian and Victorian town houses dating back to Roman times where the remains of two Roman villas have been found one of which is open to the general public..
Newport is a popular centre for Shopping where high street brands sit alongside traditional family businesses and is also the centre of commerce with the Islands County Hall & council offices housed in the town centre.
Newport Isle of Wight has many Attractions & amenities to be enjoyed including Multi Cinema complex, three Theatres, Pubs, nightclubs, trendy bars, popular Restaurants
and  Cafes .
Newport Harbour is a short walk from the town centre were facilities for visiting yachtsmen & Museums, craft studios and the Quay Arts Centre located on the riverside can be found & being the county town Newport offers a great selection of accommodation including Hotels & Bed & breakfasts.
Newport Bus station is the main hub of the bus service for the Island most parts of the Isle of Wight can be reached from this point. Newport has its own football team Newport Town FC at St George’s Park where there is a weekly Car Boot Sale held & cricket club at Newclose County Cricket Ground both can be found just on the outskirts of town.

Newport's Farmers Market can be visited in St James Square every Friday where locally grown farm produce can be purchased direct from the local farmers and producers.

Over the years Newport has grown to encompass Carisbrooke which has a largely intact picturesque Carisbrooke Castle dating back to Norman times complete with the remains of a moat that once surrounded it.

Once a year in early June Newport hosts the now famous Isle of Wight Music festival a three day extravaganza of International, national and local Artists where some of the biggest names in the world including Paul McCartney, Cold Play, the Rolling Stones have performed.
