Property SalesHouse prices make a strong start to 2010

The NationwideBuilding Society announced that they are recording a 1.2% seasonally adjusted house price increase in January 2010, with an 8.6% rise on a year to year comparison.

The three month to three month comparison fell slightly from 2.3% in December to 2.1% in January, but this in contrast to the annua figures which increased from 5.9% in December to the stated 8.6% in January.

Unless a surprise fall in prices hits, house price inflation is likely to reach double figures by the end ofFebruary for the first time in nearly 3 years.
