Freshwater & Freshwater Bay

 

Freshwater Bay photo By Chris BoyntonFreshwater is a town near the western tip of the Island close to Alum Bay and the Needles, is a busy year round town being the main shopping focal point in west Wight. Freshwater offers pubs,Tennyson Trail Walk Photo by Chris Boynton hotels, guest houses, bed & breakfasts, self catering accommodation, restaurants, takeaways, cafes and convenience stores. Freshwater and Freshwater Bay is a sweeping bay on the south west part of the Island offers spectacular scenery with chalk cliffs leading to Downs which are a walkers and hikers paradise. Tennyson Down named after Alfred Lord Tennyson who lived close by is an undulating walk towards the Needles and Stack where on clear days views of the southern English coast line can be enjoyed.
