The Isle of Wight will be awash with scooters once more returning for the World’s largest Scooter Rally, scooterists will arrive from all parts of the UK and Europe.
The Rally is held principally in Ryde over the August Bank Holiday weekend with entertainment laid on throughout the town. Last year for the first time live entertainment was made available outside Ryde Superbowl in the form of a DJ playing a variety of crowd pleasing music from across the decades throughout the event weekend, while other scooter related festivities and events were staged on a daily basis across Ryde.
As the Scooter Rally has grown over the past decade local businesses and the community have come to embrace the event and enjoy the vast array of scooters and scooterists that come to the Island.
Camping will be available at the Small Brook Speedway Stadium Ashey Rd just on the outskirts of Ryde, this year they can accomodate two thousand scooterists creating a great party atmosphere with events being held all over the weekend including bars, dealers markets, shows, catering and a bus service to Ryde, The stadium camping area will be open from Thursday with a scooter rally welcome party laid on and will be open through to Monday the site will be hosting the massively popular International parts fare over the weekend. On Saturday the world famous International Custom Show will be staged at the Planet Ice Arena from 10am-4pm With hundreds of scooters & exhibits from Britain & Europe, this is one of the largest events of its type to be held under one roof. Some of the top custom scooters will have cost thousands of £'s to build and with some very impressive trophies to be won this exhibition is sure to be a winner with all the scooter aficionado's.
Each evening there will be a party bash for everyone to let their hair down tickets are available in advance or can be purchased on the night subject to availability. See Poster
On Sunday the now will assemble on Ryde sea front which in 2008 broke the Guinness World Record for the largest uninterrupted parade of machines. The Ride will start from the Planet Ice Arena car park, where we expect thousands of onlookers to jostle for the best vantage points along the roads & verges as the uninterrupted convoy of scooterists meander their way through the lanes & villages of East Wight on their way to Sandown & Shanklin Rugby Club.
The End of Rally Party bash will be held at the Qube (formerly The Balcony) on Ryde Esplanade which starts 8.30pm till 3am on the stage Sunday night the artists announced so far are:-
Orange St & the Mod All-Stars with special guest Lorraine Silver play classic Soul. Steve Ellis as a part of love Affair was one of the most successful british pop bands of the late 60’s The Legendary Chris Farlowe who has performed a long side music greats like Jimmy Page & Steve Marriot.
