Where to find Santa on the Isle of Wight

Add News

This is a question every child is asking mum & dad but have you thought how Santa manages to get around all these places so quickly.

Father Christmas can be seen at The Needles Park or you can catch the Santa Special train from Havenstreet, if you miss Santa at these places try Busy Bee Garden Centre in Ryde or visit Santa in his grotto at the RSPCA centre Rookley. I have also heard Santa can be found in the Owl & Monkey Haven on the outskirts of Newport.

Santa is very busy at this time of year especially when it comes to delivering presents on Christmas Eve the post office need to take a leaf out of his book.

But first Santa & his elf’s have to collect all the presents visiting department stores, toy shops, gift shops & not forgetting those all important chocolates for mum from the confectioners, while  also checking under all the Christmas trees in homes across the Isle of Wight to make sure there have been no presents left behind.

I do get concerned about the amount of mince pies & glasses of sherry left out for him to consume especially with this year’s anti drink driving campaign in full swing the last thing we need is Father Christmas spending this all important night behind bars.

Then you must consider Santa’s elf’s if they followed WightLinks RMT Union staff example & strike on Christmas Eve or work to rule just think what this would do to all the children on Christmas Day. The Isle of Wight would be in melt down St Mary’s hospital waiting rooms full of children with manic depression, Christmas dinners going cold on the table, parents at their wits end with unruly children everywhere, this would be far worse than any euro zone crisis that could impacted on the UK economy.

Now you must admire Rudolf & his team of reindeer hauling all those presents around on Christmas Eve with a chubby guy on board in a red suit stuffed with mince pies, 3 sheets to the wind trying to clamber down chimney’s quietly so the children are not woken. At least the kids look after Rudolf & the boys by putting out carrots that give them energy & more importantly helps them see in the dark a necessity in this line of business.

But Santa is a seasoned professional who has been homing his skills over centuries, travelling down from Lapland every year presents in tow, he never misses a delivery, is always on time, presents are delivered without any trace of mess apart from the odd crumb from the remains of his mince pie & an empty sherry glass.

Companies in the retail trade could learn a lot from Santa, model their business practises & ethics on his, no late deliveries, sorry out of stock or damaged on arrival. Father Christmas runs a truly slick operation that rarely receives a complaint & most of all is a champion of the children.

Keep up the good work Santa the world the Isle of Wight not be the same without you.
